Karl Marx represents the fifth issue of CIT’s “Revolutionaries” series issued annually at the World Money Fair since 2016. The design of the series is marked by a conservative approach to emphasize and focus on the masterfully minted portraits rather than ornamental elements which remain identical throughout the series. Marx’s portrait once again has a shadow-enhancing digital print applied to it, accentuating the three-dimensional smartminting relief.

Customarily a gold coin featuring the same portrait is released alongside the larger silver variant. By utilizing Big Gold Minting technology CIT and B.H. Mayer Mint were able to beautifully illustrate the portrait on a 13.92 mm diameter surface while keeping the weight at 0.5 grams.
